App Help & Support

Updated 28 September 2026.

Need a hand with the Pantry iPhone app? Email support@thepantryapp.co.uk. Tell us what you were trying to do, your iPhone model, iOS version and the Pantry version shown in your account. Hide personal information in screenshots, and never send passwords, sign-in links, invitation codes or private tag links.

For the website and future physical products, use the store contact page. NFC tags are still being prototyped and are not available to order.

Trying Pantry

Pantry is currently being developed and tested on iPhone, with iOS 17 or later. Email support to ask about beta availability. If invited, follow the invitation to install through Apple TestFlight, then sign in with Apple, Google or email and create a household or join one.

Sign-in help

No sign-in email? Check Junk or Spam and the address you entered. Request a fresh link in Pantry if needed, and open the newest email on the same iPhone and app installation that requested it. Never forward a sign-in link.

A link opened the website? Return to Pantry and request a fresh sign-in email on that iPhone. Keep the same app installation. The website does not sign you into the iPhone app or ask for your password. If the problem continues, email support with the error message, without including the link.

Google mentions Supabase? Supabase provides Pantry's account service, so some Google sign-in steps may show a Supabase address. Begin sign-in from the Pantry app.

Invitations and sharing

Sign in to Pantry before joining a household. Open the invitation on your iPhone or use the app's join options to enter a code or scan its QR code. Invitations may expire, be revoked or be restricted to an email address. Ask the person who invited you, or another member with invitation access, for a fresh invitation when needed.

Lists, stock, saved meal plans and recipes belong to the selected household and are shared with its members. Check the household selected before making changes.

Changes missing on another phone

Check both phones use the same household and have a connection. Review Pantry's synchronisation status and try refreshing. A queued or offline change has not yet been shared. Avoid deleting the app or signing out while there are unsynchronised changes; contact support if a review or error state persists.

Using a Pantry tag

Tags are optional shortcuts; you can use Pantry without them. A generic blank NFC sticker is not a prepared Pantry tag.

  1. Open Tags in Pantry and scan the prepared tag.
  2. Choose its household and the available action, item or stock location.
  3. Save the assignment and test it.

For background reading on a compatible iPhone, wake the screen, hold the phone's top edge near the tag and tap the notification. Unlock if asked. If a tag opens a web page or is not recognised, try scanning from inside Pantry. Contact support if that also fails, without sending the private tag URL. Tags do not sense stock automatically: you still need to make the relevant update.

Receipts and barcode results

Receipt recognition runs on your iPhone. Pantry does not upload or save the receipt image or raw recognised text. Review the suggested names and quantities before accepting them into the basket. Saving accepted items can synchronise their details with the household. The original photo in Photos is separate.

Barcode lookup requests product information from Open Food Facts. Check the result before saving; a missing or incorrect result can be entered or corrected manually.

Food dates and reminders

Add the food date to a stock item and enable the reminders you want in Pantry's account settings and iOS notification settings. Current reminders are scheduled from information saved on your device, so open Pantry regularly to refresh it. Delivery depends on iOS and your settings. Always check the actual label and storage instructions yourself.

Profile pictures

Members of your shared households can see the profile choice you save. You can choose initials, an emoji or an icon instead of a photo. Changing the picture cannot recall another person's screenshots or copies. The App Privacy Notice explains photo storage.

Deleting your account

Open your profile in Pantry, choose Delete Pantry account and follow the confirmation steps. You may need to transfer ownership or resolve households you own before continuing. Follow any Apple confirmation or permission-removal instructions shown.

Account deletion removes the account and memberships; shared household content may remain for other members. Some security, deletion and synchronisation records follow separate retention arrangements. Local-only information has its own removal choice. Uninstalling Pantry is not a request to delete the online account.

If you cannot access the app, email support@thepantryapp.co.uk with the subject Account deletion. We will need to verify the request. Do not include a password or private link.

Privacy requests and complaints

Email support@thepantryapp.co.uk with the subject Privacy request or Privacy complaint, and explain the issue. We may need to verify your identity. The App Privacy Notice explains your rights and the ICO complaint route.

General support response times can vary. Privacy requests and complaints are handled under the applicable data-protection requirements.
